British Vogue celebrates Park's centenary in style
01 March 2013
The March 2013 issue of British Vogue features a beautiful six page spread celebrating what would have been Norman Parkinson's 100th birthday.
The feature includes memories and observations from some of Parkinson's colleagues, collaborators and fans as well as some of his greatest shots taken for Vogue.
Contributors include Grace Coddington, Twiggy, Robin Muir and Mario Testino amongst others. Testino recalls how he first encountered Parkinson as a "very elegant, tall man striding past me into the [Paris Collections]...Parkinson threw the girl across the pages of Vogue in the chicest way...He travelled everywhere and looking at his pictures truly made me want to be there. There was this sense that he really lived the life he captured with his camera."
